I was commissioned by the Washington Post magazine to create an illustrative type based artwork for their December 8, 2013 cover. The cover story was about how the induction of veteran rockers Yes in the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame seems to be one of the only topics that is receiving bipartisan support in Washington. The brief was to take design cues from Roger Dean's famous psychedelic logo for the band and create a dynamic type treatment for the cover line "Is there a single bipartisan issue in Washington? Yes" I also treated the WP magazine logo in a similar hand rendered 3D style.
I was commissioned by Nike GBI to develop a lettering concept for use in promotional material related to the global release of the running shoe Nike Free 5.0. The brief was to explore how the behaviour of the shoe's uniquely flexible sole could be expressed through a headline typeface (other than Nike's typical Futura Condensed Bold).
As a base for my treatment I suggested that we manipulate a heavier weight italic version of the typeface Sansa (created by the dutch foundry Our Type) and introduce the shoe's sole behaviour into the curvature of the letters.
I was commissioned by Science News magazine to create a typographic illustration to use along side an article on the Anorexic Brain.
I was commissioned by Christie's Real Estate magazine to develop an old world typographic design for a opener of a feature entitled Shelf Life. The artwork was then pressed in foil onto a leather bound book and photographed for the final layout. I also created a drop cap of the letter A for within feature in a similar style.

I created this artwork for the 2013 christmas card for Tellurian Wines. The type was created using the signature red earth from the winery and manipulating it on a sheet of paper to read Season's Greetings in a dynamic typographic lock-up. I then photographed the dirt as a physical layout for the cover of the card.
I was commissioned to render a series of expressive illustrative type treatments for an outdoor advertising campaign promoting the latest Toyota Corolla across California.

I was commissioned by Bloomberg Markets magazine to create the cover artwork concept for their February 2014 edition which was to feature 100 of the World's Richest Hedge Funds.
Unfortunately due to the poor performance of hedge funds the magazine decided to run with the a photo based cover featuring the cover line The Elite 16 Hedge Fund Managers so this artwork never made it to news stands.
I was commissioned by London based advertising agency BMB to create and integrate three illustrative type treatments into three images as part of a print campaign for Holiday Package retailer First Choice.

I was commissioned by Momentum Worldwide to create a typographic lock-up for use in a print and online campaign during Sydney's 2014 Mardis Gras. The brief was for the type to intertwine with itself and have subtle gay aesthetic cues

A commissioned illustrative type piece for the US social marketing agency EnviroMedia.
I was briefed by NZ based compnay All Good Organics to develop a custom lettering style for their new range of flavoured sparkling waters. The type had to have a relatively consistent weight across the range and be able to work in reverse on a smal flat tapered area of the custom teardrop shape bottle for application. The All Good Organics bird also had to be integrated within the lettering on each of the labels.
I was commissioned to create the cover design for Luxury Travel magazine's Autumn 2014 edition. The brief was to create an idyllic tropical scene with a couple watching a skywriter wringing Gold List 2014.
Last year I was also commissioned for the Luxury Travel Autumn 2013 cover.

An art deco inspired typographic ID and business cards for French Oak Trading Co. Australian importer of reclaimed French Oak timber and antiquities. The business card features a french oak style grain pattern blind letterpressed into a textured coaster board stock with the logo pressed in copper foil.
